FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
We like to use a 3-4 pound chicken, it will fit perfectly in the air fryer basket. If you go any larger you run the risk of it not fitting.
You can serve this with any of your favorite sides such as vegetables or a side salad. We used potatoes as you can see in the photos below. I simply microwaved them. To make those just follow this recipe: pierce potatoes with a fork. Place potatoes in a microwave-safe dish and cover with saran wrap. Cook in the microwave for about 6 minutes (check at the 4 minute mark) then toss in ½ stick (¼ cup) melted salted butter and a ¼ teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder and Italian seasoning.
Yes for this recipe you will want to preheat it at 390F degrees for 5 minutes before placing your chicken in. Not all recipe require preheating but this one does.
Getting an internal thermometer really helps with this. When the internal temperature of the thickest part of the chicken (without touching the bone) reaches 165 degreesF then it is done and safe to consume.
If you are not a fan of the seasonings that I used here, feel free to use whatever seasonings you like or a pre-made one from the store! Cajun seasoning and lemon pepper seasoning are two of my personal favorite seasoning blends.
This to get even cooking and golden skin all the way around the chicken.
This can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container where it will keep for up to 4-5 days. The cooked chicken can also be frozen. Place cooked chicken in a freezer bag or container and it will keep frozen for up to 3 months. To defrost, remove from the freezer into the refrigerator overnight until thawed.
